My #6 Anticipated Film

Okay, I wanted to add one more to that list. The upcoming Allen Gainsberg biopic 'Howl' features a lot of actors I like. Here's just a sample:

Not to mention:

This is gonna be some movie. I need to hear from those Sundance folks what they thought of it. But for now, here are a few clips from the film:

I guess Franco is really gunning for that Oscar nod, huh?

My Amelia Trailer

Talk about an underwhelming trailer. Everytime Hilary Swank goes out of her way to give an uber-performance, both she and film fall flat ('Affair of a Necklace'). She should stick to smaller, character roles she excels at. I hope she can prove me wrong though because I want to like an Ewan McGregor movie for a change.

My Super Mario Galaxy

Since the first installment of Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii is probably still the best game for the console, it was a no-brain for the folks over at Nintendo to greenlit a second installment. As much fun and inventive as the concept of changing the traditional "worlds" gamers have been used to from Mario and company in the past to "galaxies" the first time around, the recently released trailer for the sequel shows no signs of that creative gene fading away. I can't wait to literally wiggle Mario (and apparently Yoshi as well) through cartoony dangers once again.

My Nine Trailer

And now for the sexiest trailer of 2009. Geez, can this trailer be anymore beautiful? And speaking of beautiful... OMG... Nicole Kidman...

Picture 2

Oh so purty.

My Upcoming Trailers

I've always thought Woody Allen is at his best when the characters are just over-the-top enough without crossing the fine line of wacky silliness (see 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona'). I'm sad to say Allen's latest, Whatever Works does not look so good. It seems like it's a film FILLED with crazy characters and only connection to the audience being Larry David playing what is essentially his character from 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'. We shall see...

Another highly anticipated summer flick is Julie & Julia marking Meryl Streep's second collaboration with both Stanley Tucci (LOVE these two together) and Amy Adams (though doesn't share a scene together). Judging from the trailer, it seems like it's part 'Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood', part 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and part 'Ratatouille'. Sounds fun enough for me. Also, are they seriously going to go through with cutting Meryl Streep's role in this to a supporting one? (gasp!)

My Newest Half Blood Prince Trailer

As my number one anticipated film of 2009, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has pushed up its release date by two days and sequentially released its final trailer. While the book itself was personally ranked fifth (of seven) in the JK Rowling series, the potential for an excellent film is there. And judging from the trailer, this is going to be some magical ride. I. CANNOT. WAIT.

My Up Trailer

As elementary the premise sounds, the upcoming Pixar film 'Up' does have that endearing quality that has been all their films. As much as I can't wait to see this next summer, I can't help but wonder when Brad Bird is going to do another Pixar flick- because he's a genius.

My Sunshine Cleaning

My love for Amy Adams is well-documented, my infatuation with Emily Blunt is slowly on the rise, so when I heard about their collaboration got accepted at Sundance earlier this year, I couldn't wait to see a trailer for it. Now, some nine months later, it has finally arrived. Just try not laughing out loud at the last 10 seconds of it... I dare you.

Why doesn't Rinko Kikuchi say a word in this trailer?

My Half-Blood Prince Reaction

51

Judging from the trailer for 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' that premiered tonight, my initial reaction is that I'm not as worried. I'm glad most of the trailer contained the young Tom Riddle instead of Harry and his friends because I was afraid the film was going to be a little too boring. The most fascinating things about the sixth book to the series had to do with Dumbledore's flashing backward into Tom Riddle's past.

This trailer definitely beats the teaser we were treated to earlier this month, but one question- where the heck is Hermione? Check out the trailer for yourself. (AOL/WB)

My Up

up

The only that worries me about Pixar's next feature is that they didn't show any preview for it during the uber-successful 'Wall-E'. You can now catch the teaser about the old man who flies with his house on their official site. It's strange and looks like a simple story, but I'm sure Pixar won't disappoint me. (Disney)

My Ultimate Teaser

If they gave awards for the shortest teaser trailer, this one takes the cake.

My Yes Man

Hey, a Jim Carrey movie that actually looks funny! Not to mention it also stars Rhys Darby from 'Flight of the Conchords'. Watch me be wrong altogether once again about comedy.

My Distaste for High School Musical

293

I don't think the year is going to be over without another horrid musical. Here are actual lyrics from the upcoming 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year':

TROY: "Right now I can hardly breath!"
GABRIELLA: "I know you can do it just know that I believe!"
TROY: "And that's all I really need!"
GABRIELLA: "Then come on!"
TROY: "Make me strong! It's time to turn it up, GAME ON!"

I uncontrollably laughed so hard in the theater when I heard these lyrics. HSM is just gonna be one of those things I'd never get. Check out the trailer below.

My Blueberry Nights

The trailer for Wong Kar-Wai's first English-language film came out this past weekend... but nothing really came from it other than gorgeous cinematography (as usual) and dramatic headshots. It continues to make me curious. Check it out for yourself.
