My Open Letter to Hollywood

Hey Folks Who Ruin Musicals,

Since the release of 'Moulin Rouge!' and 'Chicago' close to eight years ago, there has been an onslaught of movie musicals adapted from Broadway that resulted in catastrophe- either critically or commercially if not both. As a theatre fanatic, this trend will only hurt my opinions towards productions I currently love. So here I am, pleading, for less adaptations, but if you must here are a few recent shows you are more than welcomed to ruin for me and a few productions I beg of you not to even think about.

Adapt:

Sincerely,
Peterio

P.S.- Where's my next Ewan McGregor song and dance?

I don't know...Drowsy Chaperone is just so about THEATRE. Xanadu would be fun, but however will they replace Olivia Newton-John? And if they didn't get Lupone...maybe the Bening?

I was thinking about 'Drowsy' as well, but theatre content has never stopped Hollywood before (ie. the non-musical version of 'The Producers'). They just need find a writer to make the character of Narrator work.

Also, Jane Krakowski would be an awesome replacement for Olivia Newton-John. She was actually suppose to star on Broadway, but bowed out when she got the part of Jenna on '30 Rock'.

But Bening for LuPone is a great idea.
